The core of Drupal CMS is a concept node, according to which the entire system is a network of information linked together through these nodes. These are the nodes linked together in groups (taxonomy, content type), created by the user to include information that is needed in the system. By default, the node number 0 is the homepage of the website. You can continue to create the first node contains information About the websit, we will have a collection of nodes containing information for the user to see.
Some key concepts about Drupal module
As previous mentioned, the functional groups on the Drupal modules to charge each individual part. Example Menu module to charge the path, Node module in charge of the content type (content type) and create nodes for each typ. Here, we will introduce a number of Drupal modules and explain concepts so that you can master the structure and mechanism.
Menu manage the path in the entire Drupal system. As you know, Drupal system is a network of nodes information, to gain access to these nodes you need to have the path, the path is created by the Menu. Path can be created from within the CMS or from the modules used hook_menu (hook system will be discussed in the next section).
Node is the most important module of Drupal and is providing information to the user. Missing node, there will be no information website and become worthless to users. Node is classified into several different types of nodes. For example, we have the node type Article (news article), or the type of Product (product information) and more. Basically, Node type is a structured data to define the type of data that will be included in the node. For example, if content type name is Product, it will have Product name, Product image, the node of Product type will be able to contain and present images.
Block is a special data type used to store only the little pieces of information, video or picture to put in some proper placement on the website. Block only contains a single body to put the data.
Taxonomy is another name for the category. The purpose of this module is to create a list of proper names, for example, national name, the name of the product type (PC, desk, …), fruits (apple, lemon, ..). These categories are then used again to define the data fields in the content type. For example, the content type would have a field User profile is linked to the National Taxonomy Country. School Gender will link to Taxonomy. Taxonomy is particularly important in the classification of content served to search and filter the information in the website as needed.
Page’s site, where the display information provided by node, block, and taxonomy to the user. When it comes to graphic design to website design is said to Page. After having graphic design, web developer will convert to the template page.
