5 things you can do to improve your business in 2015
The only thing that is constant is change! To keep up with continuous change, you need to revise your business plan at least on an annual basis, have resolutions for the year, set new goals and improve your plans. Consider the following suggestions for your 2015 resolutions because these may help you better prepare and develop your business in the coming year.
#Resolution 1. Multi-channel approach
How many channels does your business have a presence on? Potential customers can are no longer just constrained to the desktop. The social media revolution has enabled people to communicate and interact on different networks using multiple devices. A typical day of an internet user may include checking Facebook in the morning, tweeting latest news to their friends during the day, using WhatsApp to keep in touch and watching some fun clip on YouTube in the evening while relaxing.
The bigger the online presence of your business, the higher possibility you will engage new prospects. Each social media platform engages with prospects differently but you need to manage each channel to ensure consistent brand appearance on various platforms. A single negative experience on one channel can damage your professionalism and brand image. We suggest that you understand which channel works for your business and target those customers by maintaining regular communication and activity.
#Resolution 2. Redesign Website for Better User Experience
When was the last time you redesigned your business’ website? The New Year is an ideal time to introduce new plans for the company, and maybe a new look, too. You may not know that your website is not attracting customers or keeping them interested to continue shopping. The first thing to do is to review your entire website and make a few notes. A redesign does not necessarily mean a complete change to your website because it may cause customers to feel lost in the new version. Instead, find some pages or functions where you can improve user experience and boost conversions.
A redesign with careful preparation can bring back great returns on investment. When customers feel excited and curious with new updates, they will stay on your website longer and may buy more.
#Resolution 3. Mobile Experience Enhancement
Second screen is an emerging trend nowadays relating to internet user behaviors when exposed to different media. Mashable defines it as “the use of an additional monitor (e.g. tablet, smartphone) while watching television. It allows the audience to interact with what they’re consuming whether it’s a TV show, video game or movie.”
What does it mean for you? More people are seeing an advertisement and using their second screen to research information and then access to brand website to make online purchases. Are you ready to get more customers by improving the mobile experience of your business’ website?
#Resolution 4. Customer Care Planning
Customer service is an integral part of any business, which makes sure the provided service or product will work as described and ensure the customer is happy at the end of the purchase. We cannot satisfy every demand from each customer; however, the important thing to keep in mind is that it should be a continuous effort to build long-term relationship with them.
Those loyal customers can contribute up to 80% of a company’s revenue. Many companies invest in marketing activities for new customers who may only purchase a single item. We suggest you think of how to best reward your current loyal customers as they are your brand ambassadors.
#Resolution 5. Personalisation
You need to recognise that more brand are now personalising consumer experience with their products. In 2014, Coca Cola experimented on a campaign by providing uniquely designed bottles or printing customer names on their Coke bottles.
Applying new methods to connect customers may be adventurous and also very rewarding if we combine the right insights. We want to remind you that customers buying decision are changing as more people now choose the brand they love which may not necessarily be the best quality products. The more interesting, innovative and creative your campaigns are, the more positive feedbacks and emotions can be triggered in the consumers’ mind, resulting in high engagement and buzz.
Setting good resolutions can help you realise business goals for the year and the resources required in order to achieve it. Knowing exactly what needs to be done will make it easy to set goals and milestones. A final point to remember: Be realistic in what you can achieve in a year!
