The Tabby Awards is one of a kind. Itâ€™s the only global competition for the best tablet apps and games on all platforms (Android, iOS and Windows). Every year it attracts a large number of entries and this year was no exception, with over 200 entries being received from 20 different countries.
While the finalists of the consumer app competition have already been announced for 2014, the business app section is still accepting entries until August 8, 2014. These are annual awards for the best apps in key categories, decided by a panel of independent judges. This year there are more than 16 different categories and anyone with a great app can enter, from app developers and creative agencies to mobile marketing agencies and technology providers.
Judges will be marking apps according to how well they meet criteria such as objective, execution, innovation, feasibility, demonstrated success, category relevance and user experience.

Apple Design Awards
This is a big one for iOS developers. Every year Apple rewards the most innovative Mac and iOS software and hardware from independent developers and the most creative uses of Apple products.
There are a variety of categories and the judges are looking for apps that incorporate outstanding visual design and use the iOS platform to its fullest potential.

This is the Asia Pacificâ€™s most prestigious competition for app concepts and provides winners with the resources to develop and launch their apps, as well as mentorship and commercial advice.
The aim of the awards is to encourage dialogue and collaboration between innovators, investors and industry and if youâ€™re an Australian developer with a great app idea, then this is the competition for you.

Australian Mobile & App Design Awards
These awards celebrate innovation in mobile and app design and are a great chance for both creators and commissioners of apps to get their products in the spotlight.
Thereâ€™s a big range of categories and the awards are open to anyone with a great app or a great app idea. Entries for the 2014 competition close on July 24, so if you miss this yearâ€™s cut off, thereâ€™s always next year. Best Mobile App Awards
This is another competition where apps developed using any platform (iPhone, Android & Windows) can be entered and there are a huge range of categories to enter under, including Best Game App, Best Music App, Best Childrenâ€™s App and tons more.
Each category is judged by a committee of industry experts and the criteria they use to make their decisions includes elements such as functionality, creativity, usability, design and originality.
